PHILOMENE PIRECKI

Philomene Pirecki

7 May - 16 July 2011 PV. 6 May, 6 - 8pm

Hanway Place are pleased to present a solo exhibition by Philomene Pirecki. At the core of Philomene Pirecki’s practice is an ongoing enquiry into notions of definitive representations. Utilising a range of media from painting, photography, drawing and sculpture, Pirecki employs slight gestures to modify fixed points of experience in time, history and visual memory. Her works take a reflexive approach and distill observations through the mechanisms of material transformation. Whether revealing the processes by which they are made or adopting different permutations and accumulations over time, Pirecki’s works highlight the partial nature of rep- resentations and the problems of attempting to define experience in terms of absolutes. For her exhibition at Laure Genillard, Philomene Pirecki will include works that accrue and alter over the course of the exhibition, and over a more extended time.
